FOREIGN TRADE POLICY


Government of India was coming out with Foreign Trade Policy every five years, last such policy was for period 2015-2020 and was extended due to Covid situation. The current Trade Policy (FTP -2023) is now notified by the Central Government on 31st March 2023 and come into effect from 1st April 2023 and shall continue to be in operation unless otherwise specified or amended.. The Foreign Trade Policy of India has always focused on substantially increasing the country’s share of global merchandise trade. Accordingly, the Government of India has been taking various steps towards boosting its trade with the rest of the world by adopting policies and procedures which would help to increase and facilitate both exports and imports with the other countries of the world.
